Do you wonder about your DNA?

HumanBodyLearning.com has published some "Fun Facts About DNA."  Did you know that a DNA strand is 6 feet long?  Or that red blood cells don't have any DNA in them?

The DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) in your cells affects who you are, including what you look like and how healthy you are.  Scientists have been trying to "map" the human genome (all of the DNA in a human), but only a small fraction of what it does is currently known.  New discoveries are coming every year.

Scientific advances of the last 75 years have made personal DNA tests accessible to ordinary citizens in the United States.  People are able to determine their personal risk for certain diseases.   They can learn about where their ancestors came from, and online databases have allowed many to find relatives they didn't know existed.  Have you ever wondered about having your DNA tested?

This autumn, Associate Pastor Jeff Larson is presenting a sermon series titled "SDA DNA."  Each Sabbath morning, we'll get an in-depth look at an area of the Seventh-day Adventist Church's history (ancestry), unique beliefs, and mission.  Please join us Sabbath mornings in person or online at 10:50 a.m. to learn more!
